This privacy policy applies to vicnetwork.com owned and operated by VIC Technology Venture Development, LLC (referred to as either “VIC Technology Venture Development”, “VIC”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”). This Privacy Policy describes VIC’s policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data when you use the VIC Investor Network (VIN) Platform. It also describes the choices available to you regarding the use of, your access to, and how to update and correct your personal data. We will not use or share your confidential information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information we collect from other sources. Capitalized terms that are not defined in this Privacy Policy have the meaning given in VIC’s Terms of Service.

General data protection regulation (GDPR)

The GDPR is an EU Regulation to improve the protection of the personal data of EU citizens and increase the obligations of organisations who collect or process personal data. These new regulations take effect on the 25th of May 2018. The regulations greatly enhance the data privacy and security of our customers and extend to them exercisable rights enabling greater control over one’s personally identifiable information.

Information we collect and use

We respect your privacy. VIC is the sole data controller of the information collected through the Site. We will use and disclose such information in the manner described in this Policy. The terms of this policy are subject to all applicable laws.

VIC may collect information during your visit to the Site through our automatic data collection tools, which may include cookies and other commonly used information-gathering tools. Some jurisdictions limit our ability to disclaim liability. With regard to those jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the greatest extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the VIC Parties from and against any claims, actions or demands, including, without limitation, reasonable legal and accounting fees, arising or resulting from your breach of these Terms or your access to, use, or misuse of the Content or Site. VIC will provide notice to you of any such claim, suit, or proceeding. VIC reserves the right to assume the exclusive defense and control of any matter which is subject to indemnification under this provision. In such case, you agree to cooperate with any reasonable requests assisting VIC’s defense of such matter.

Children’s privacy

VIC is committed to protecting the privacy of young children, and therefore does not knowingly collect or maintain personally identifiable information on the Site from persons under 13 years of age, and no part of our website is directed to persons under the age of 13. IF YOU ARE UNDER 13 YEARS OF AGE, THEN PLEASE DO NOT USE OR ACCESS THE SITE AT ANY TIME OR IN ANY MANNER. In the event that KPCB discovers that personal information has been collected from a person under 13 years of age, without verified parental consent in accordance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (“COPPA”), VIC will delete such information.
